Dear Colleague

It is a pleasure to announce on behalf of the Petroleum Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the organization of the “5th International Symposium on Hydrotreating/Hydrocracking Technologies” at the 238th National ACS meeting in Washington DC, August 16-20, 2009. The meeting will be held in conjunction with a symposium titled, “Advances in Hydrodesulfurization and Hydrodenitrogenation” in honor of Prof. Roel Prins. Information about registration can be obtained under ACS National Meetings

Papers covering the following subjects are welcome:

• Catalyst Preparation, Characterization, Testing and Deactivation
• New Catalytic and Adsorption Materials
• Application of Nanomaterials
• Catalyst Regeneration and Rejuvenation,
• Reactor Design and Process Configuration
• Feedstock Modification / Improvement / Characterization
• Kinetics / Thermodynamics
• Product Quality / Stability
• Molecular / Kinetic / Process Modeling
• Non Catalytic Technology (Adsorption, Extraction, etc.)
• Heavy Oil, Liquefied Coal and Biomass Processing/co-processing

The Petroleum Division requires an abstract and a short 2-4 page Preprint, which can include material published or to be published elsewhere. These are to be submitted on the ACS web page no later than March 23rd, 2009 http://oasys.acs.org/acs/238nm/petr/papers/index.cgi.
